Bitcoven

Overview

Bitcoven is a mobile application that facilitates the process of sending money to Venezuela using cryptocurrency. The project required designing a clear, trustworthy experience for a process that can feel complex and intimidating to non-technical users.

The Challenge

Cryptocurrency remittance involves multiple unfamiliar concepts — wallets, exchange rates, transaction fees — which create significant cognitive load for first-time users. The design had to demystify the process while maintaining transparency about costs and timelines.

Process

Extensive user research with the Venezuelan diaspora community revealed the emotional stakes involved in sending money home. Personas and a user journey map highlighted the moments of highest anxiety in the existing process.

The interface was designed with progressive disclosure — surfacing only what’s needed at each step — and plain-language copy to reduce friction. Multiple rounds of usability testing with target users refined the flow before handoff.

Outcome

The app successfully reduced the perceived complexity of cryptocurrency remittances, giving users a straightforward path to send money home with confidence.
