Reuters Impact

Social Media Strategy & Content Design 2023
Reuters Impact

Overview

Reuters IMPACT is a premier global platform dedicated to sustainability and climate action, driving the critical conversation on decarbonization. My role focused on transforming complex environmental data into compelling visual narratives, specifically designed to raise awareness and foster a digital community committed to a greener future.

The Challenge

Reuters possesses a deeply established corporate audience, but the strategic goal was to penetrate a younger demographic (Gen Z and Millennials). The challenge lay in the Visual Tone: I needed to create content that was energetic, interactive, and modern enough to stop the scroll of a young adult, while strictly adhering to the professional branding and prestige of the Reuters name.

The Process

The Approach

1. Audience Research

To achieve the goal of attracting younger users (Gen Z and Millennials), the project began by dissecting the behavior of this target demographic.

I researched how young adults consume scientific data on social media, identifying a strong preference for bite-sized information, visual storytelling, and high interactive capability rather than dry text walls or traditional corporate reporting

2. Visual Tone

The core creative challenge lay in Reuters’ strict corporate constraints. The visual direction needed to bridge the gap between heavy, data-backed journalism and youth culture.

I defined a refined visual tone that introduced a lively, approachable color palette and modern typography treatments, ensuring the grid stood out on a casual feed while strictly preserving the professional prestige of the Reuters master brand

Brand Identity

Goal: establish a scalable and consistent visual foundation to support future growth.

3. Implementation Across Touchpoints

Applied the new brand system across all key channels:

Device Mockups

Ensured a consistent brand experience across digital, print, and in-person interactions.

4. Website Experience Improvements

Focus: create a more intuitive, engaging, and conversion-friendly experience aligned with the new brand.
